Although January can be a drab month after Christmas break the new year brings change, a fresh start and in the Interiors world the exciting launch of new collections, new designs and new trends and there is no better place to view all of this together other than ‘Deco Off – Paris.’ This event is a truly beautiful and inspirational showcase of all thing’s homeware and Interiors in the heart of Paris.
In today’s blog we will be unpacking all you need to know about this decadent, opulent, event as well as the furniture trade fair, Maison et Objet which runs at the same time and is a feast for the eyes!
A Visual Picture
The streets of Paris become a luxury, theatrical lounge with the annual display of 150 oversized lamps dressed in the latest textile creations hanging outside in the street above you. Thick, velvet botanical curtains are hung from the outside of shopfronts and show rooms everywhere are overflowing with trims, textiles and wherever you look there is a new piece of inspiration.
The Trends
At Stella Mannering we have a passion for pattern and texture, so we were delighted to see that there’s a huge amount of colour and printed textiles on display for 2023. Punchy, earthy tones and warm rich shades were sprawled across every wallpaper, piece of upholstery and drape fabric. It appears that 2023 is going to see the end of minimalist spaces and sterile interiors; creating a space with warmth, soul and personality is back! This year, we can see the resurgence of character throughout the home and individual spaces with bundles of personality; curated collections of books, layers of textiles, unique gallery walls, and an eclectic mix of contemporary pieces combined with vintage one-off antiques.
