Cosy Christmas

Winter has well and truly landed on our doorstep, with dark cold nights drawing in and a sprinkling of snow – its time to get cosy!

We are fully embracing winter here in Woodstock, Oxfordshire. This is the time of year as designers we love to adapt our homes, by styling a curated look that is timelessly refreshed for the season. This year, there are a few looks which define the season, the elements bring a warmth and tactile impression. Incorporating these of-the-moment materials into your home will create a cosy vibe which will make you want to stay indoors for the festive period.

Velvets & Mohair

Textural and elevated upholstery is a must have this season, from fully upholstered sofas in rich velvets to warm mohair cushions. Headboards upholstered in velvet will create a luxurious backdrop, by adding layers of tactile fabrics you can add a warmly curated feel in your home just through mixing of fabrics.

Natural Woods

A palette of warm and rich tones give a perfect opportunity for organic materials to be introduced into the scheme. There are many different types of woods which give a unique texture, we love burl or traditional oak for a more statement look. A burl wood dresser or side table can lend modern details and structure for styling, while a dining table made from oak reflect a farmhouse style with elegant details.

Leather

An accent piece in a room or as a detail on a mixed-material piece of furniture can help to balance a scheme and create harmony. A side table with organic detail can bring warmth to a room with natural qualities, while leather details on a industrial dining chair help to create a cosy and inviting feel.
