Our client was an Oxford academic desiring a quiet city escape and the property was a bijoux apartment that required a transformation - full furnishing and decoration throughout - and for this turnkey project we were given complete creative control.
The interior was remodelled to create an open plan kitchen & living area and new contemporary anthracite aluminium windows were installed allowing the natural light to flood in.
The masculine tone was set with a calm colour palette using shades of grey with accents of teal, floors covered in a wool herringbone and the installation of a smart grey gloss kitchen and Silestone worktop.
We designed a comfortable reading area with armchairs upholstered in tactile, luxurious fabrics and lit by an elegant bronzed floor lamp with velvet shade, and the dining area has a contemporary edge with a vortex table in a black metal finish.
In the bedroom, bespoke cabinetry was crafted to maximize storage and was key in establishing a streamlined aesthetic, whilst vibrant colour and texture were introduced to the space in the form of fabrics which draw on the palette from the client’s own collection of art.
Attention to detail was fundamental right down to the hardware on the doors – diamond-cut, knurled steel. Now we’ve handed back the keys to this compact but perfectly finished apartment and the client could not be happier.
