This lodge in a village on the Evenlode River is one of grandeur and charm set behind wrought iron gates and an imposing Cotswold stone wall. The owners wished for an interior that reflected their diverse style, an abode that skilfully walks a line between the traditional and the avant-garde where their impressive collection of contemporary ceramics could be perfectly juxtaposed with classic oil portraits.
In the ground floor Sitting & Drawing rooms, we specified shaped pelmets, full lined and interlined curtains and tassel tie-backs to enhance the large Georgian windows, alongside dynamic lighting from Porta Romana and modern furniture.
In the Spare bedroom, the De Gournay hand painted wallcovering is the outstanding feature which we allowed to shine by teaming with amazing double pinch pleat headed curtains and a padded headboard in a simple yet stunning 100% wool sateen from Holland & Sherry.
And in the daughter’s bedroom, we chose understated elegance with a refined soft linen embroidery from Mark Alexander contrast lined with a mini check from Chelsea Textiles as the window treatment which enriches the dramatic proportions of the room and highlights the inherent splendour of the home.
But finished, we are not - we begin work on the Master bedroom in spring with photographs to follow soon after so do pop back and see what happens next.
